A very sick pup was brought to the Huntsville shelter by a young boy, whose parents told him they couldn't keep him. After 2 months of excellent care, he was up for adoption. When I saw a one blue eyed, one brown eyed, bright pink tongued black puppy on petfinder.com, I called to find out if he was available, but he was already adopted. 2 weeks later the shelter emailed me to tell me his adopters still hadn't come for him, and if we wanted him, he was ours. After midnight on a Saturday he was ours. On Sunday morning, after driving for 3 hours one way, we had a new addition to our family. He brought joy and laughter into a house that had lost one family member a year ago, and had a massive hole to fill. 110 pounds later, the hole is flowing over!! He is a total goofball, and an integral part of our life. Everyday, we have a big blue eyed, black ball of fur to greet us and play with us. Everyday we smile and laugh. You can't ask for much more than that! Shelter dogs RULE!!
