I met my beloved Sarge - a shepherd mix at the Oakville Humane Society in 1993 when he was two and a half years old. He had been owned by people who left him to run and when picked up for the third time by the Humane Society, they were told they could keep him. I met him about a month after he went there and he has become my best bud. He has traveled numerous times from Ont. to PEI and back, through the US and to all parts of Ontario. Although aggressive at first, I took him to training and now friends, family and other people are amazed at his good manners and behaviour. One relative says he is better behaved than most kids she knows! He is now 16 years old and still doing well. He was the BEST decision I have ever made! I don't know what I will ever do without him.
