After our pet hamster died we decided to get a dog from the Belleville Humane Society. I would bring my daughters there and walk dogs on weekends hoping one would catch my eye and she did. She was a very timid 4 month old black border collie/husky. It took us 20 minutes just to talk her into coming out of her cage. But once we got her outside in the snow she livened up considerably. Roxie teaches us everyday how to relax and take things a little slower. I was so grateful and felt a little guilty for not taking all the dogs home; I now work at the shelter she came from.
