Charlie is a wonderful 4 year old chocolate Labrador cross that my husband and I adopted from Second Chance Animal Rescue three years ago. In addition to his movie star good looks, Charlie has the most wonderful calm, sweet and friendly temperment of any dog I've ever known. His good natured characteristics have made him an ideal candidate to volunteer as a therapy dog. Charlie often accompanies me to work where I teach children with disabilities, and he is loved by both staff and students alike. We aslo take him to a local nursing home to provide some furry companionship to seniors who do not have access to pets of their own. It is a really amazing experience to see the joy he brings to people by doing a few tricks and letting them pat his soft ears. Charlie has truly become a member of our family and often joins us when we visit friends and relatives. Also, due to his easy going personality, he has become a regular canine blood donor to help other animals in need all over the country. I can't say enough about how much joy he has brought to our lives, and he is a real testamonial to dogs that start their life in unfortunate circumstances and grow to give so much back to their families and the community at large .
